Not Getting Email from the WRA?

If you find you are not receiving email communications from the WRA, please run through the checklist below for some of the most common reasons why this might be happening.

  1. Check your spam folder (or promotions folder in Gmail): and ensure your WRA emails are not being filtered from your inbox and if so, mark emails from wrae@wra.org as “safe,” “not spam” or assign it to a similar category. Please check these settings on both your desktop system and mobile devices.
  1. Did you set up a rule to move incoming messages to a specific location or folder? Sometimes it's easy to forget that we have set up our own rules to handle incoming email, and after a while, we also forget about the folder. Check your rules to see if your emails are being redirected to another location.

  2. Check your WRA email preferences: Log in to the WRA website using your username and password. Check your WRA email preferences to ensure you are receiving all of your email subscriptions. Email preferences can quickly be accessed and customized by following www.wra.org/myEmail.

  3. Allow enough time: Although email is usually thought of as being an instantaneous form of communication, this isn’t always the case. If you’re expecting an email, don't assume it will come through immediately. Your email may be relayed through several hops from one server to another en route to your server. In most cases, email does go through very quickly, but sometimes it can take a few hours to get through, so always allow enough time before chasing it up. You may also find a colleague has received an email communication from us quicker than you. This is normal as email jobs take a while to complete from the WRA.

  4. Check your personal quarantine report: Not everyone receives a daily or weekly quarantine report from their email system, but if you do, sift through the list and check if any of the emails are from the WRA and add wrae@wra.org to your whitelist.

  5. Check your office whitelist: Check with your technical team for an office-wide email-filtering system that is quarantining WRA emails. Most office-wide email-filtering systems have whitelists and blacklists for managing unwanted email traffic. Please ensure wrae@wra.org is on the whitelist and not in the blacklist.

  6. Connect with us via social media: All WRA communications are posted in real-time on our social communities faster than any other form of communication. We suggest connecting with Facebook where we have the largest community of WRA followers who can share and re-post our communications.
