During the 2021-22 legislative session, Wisconsin lawmakers showed strong support for the WRA and issues important to the real estate industry. In fact, virtually all WRA legislative priorities received unanimous support from legislators. In the end, the WRA passed 14 top legislative priorities on a variety of issues affecting all sectors of the real estate industry.
The WRA’s 14 legislative priorities passed into law were:
- Disclosure reports
- 40-year access easements
- Homeowners associations
- Home equity theft
- WHEDA workforce housing rehabilitation loans
- Limiting liability for appraisers
- Right to place a pier on flowages
- Broadband expansion
- Home inspection reports and “defects”
- DSPS tech upgrades
- Significant income tax cuts
- Property tax cuts
- COVID-19 civil liability exemption
- Bad proposals rejected by the Wisconsin Legislature
