In 2010, there was a concerted effort by the city of Milwaukee and some appraisers to severely limit or prohibit REALTOR^® opinions of value. Fortunately, this legislation was defeated.

Background

• This legislation was designed to prevent real estate licensees from giving broker price opinions (BPOs), or other opinions of value unless they had an appraiser’s license. 
• This legislation would significantly increase the cost to your clients and hurt your business. 
• Because of your grassroots efforts, consumers today can choose to hire an appraiser, or real estate licensee to provide them with an opinion on the value of their property.
